| | Beckham man of the match }{ v Belarus (3:0) « Thread Started on Oct 15, 2009, 1:34pm » | |
Steve Bruce awarded David Beckham the "Man of the match" for a short "cameo" role in last night's game against Belarus. I admit that the team raised their game after he came on and we scored a further two goals. That said, there were several other players that were more worthy including gangly Peter Crouch who scored twice, Wright-Philips with another goal, John Terry had a good game too.
Listening to TalkSport earlier on, Graham Poll (ex referee) informed us that Beckham was 25-1 to be man of the match. Once you hear this, you start to think about all the possibilities there are to exploit the position of choosing man of the match.
No way should Beckham have been chosen and I can't see Bruce being bent but it makes you think. Was Bruce influenced Derren Brown style into choosing him ?
No names but something stinks somewhere and it was quite close to Wembley last night.
