 My claim to fame
« Thread Started on Jan 6, 2008, 8:58pm »

I have several but....
We used to have John Paul Jones as a customer and he lived less than half a mile away in the same village as me.
I met him on several occasions.
The last time was when he collected a load of boxes from us to help him with his move down to Devon to manage a new band (back then) called The Mission.

John Paul Jones is the bass guitarist of a little known band called Led Zeppelin.

How cool is that? I'm a long-time Zep fan and I have every album (yes... Album, not CD) that they ever released.

My only claim to fame is that I am a survivor.
I have survived 13 car wrecks, 5 motorcycle wrecks, 1 abusive marriage, several bar fights, a broken collarbone, two broken noses, assorted broken fingers and toes, several broken ribs, severe osteoporosis (my lumbar spine might as well be gone), and fibromyalgia. In addition to that, i've survived the deaths of many, many friends and family members - although I didn't think I would and at times I didn't want to...
My greatest accomplishment in life has been giving birth to a lovely little girl who makes life worth living - even on the days when the pain is at it's absolute worst. The second best thing I ever did was marry her father (this is my second marriage - I had to live through hell to find heaven). We had a quaint little ceremony in our front yard, and I actually walked down the aisle to Led Zeppelin's "The Thank You Song".

Quite humbling when you read something like that RQ. It certainly wasn't in my mind when I started this thread.
Sounds to me you deserve a medal.
